　　個人認為本書的重點有二：　　一是假設大腦的運作原理充分地運用了達爾文過程；　　另一個很有創見的地方是本書第七章的〈皮質迷宮〉：作者提出一個可能的方式，來描述大腦皮質層如何產生達爾文過程，並解釋了意識及潛意識的形成。
