Mobile data synchronization is becoming increasingly important for many people, and various standards have arisen to perform this two-way copying 'over-the-air'. The most important platforms that can do wireless synchronisation are ActiveSync that is used to communicate with Exchange Server and Research-in-Motion's BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES). Both solutions require proprietary server-side software from the vendor, therefore limiting the use of PIMs (personal information managers) to either wired synchronization or irritating 3rd-party synchronizers requiring the installation of client software on the PDA.

We're creating fun and simple e-mail & calendaring software. We want our inboxes to be usable again: e-mail should be a useful tool, not a productivity killer. We want to be able to use our calendars to organise our lives, and we want other people to be able to interact with us through it whether they use Bongo or not.
Although Bongo is a young project, the software itself has a long pedigree and we are simply amongst the latest custodians. But while the core code isn't new, the ideas we have and the direction we're taking are. We're not trying to create a "groupware" system to compete with well-known proprietary systems, or create an "enterprise platform" which encompasses everything from document management to project planning.

Si.Mail est un client de messagerie open source développé par Miha Vrhovnik.
Rapide, utilisant une visualisation des messages par onglets, ce client mail a plus d'un atout dans sa manche. Il ne nécessite pas d'installation et peut parfaitement être utilisé à partir d'une clé USB.
