Paludis is a package manager for use with Gentoo and related distributions. It is entirely independent of Portage.

I see a lot of the same questions constantly come up on the Gentoo Forums and on #gentoo about how to do some stuff with multimedia, ranging from basic to advanced topics. Most of these are already answered and come up on a regular basis.

After having migrated from RedHat Linux to Gentoo on my network (35 hosts + 4 servers, approx 300 users) I would like to share and discuss my experiences in handling multiple Gentoo systems installations. This is nothing special for all the sysadmin out there, however I hope to stimulate discussion and hear how you manage such installations.

Je suis l'heureux possesseur d'un laptop HP nx7000. J'ai donc essayé un jour Software Suspend 2. J'ai également voulu tester le patchset de Con Kolivas, reconnu pour ses performances en desktop. J'ai également fait quelques tests avec Reiser4. Comment obtenir tout cela ? Il y a bien les -morph mais je voulais un patchset léger qui ne contienne que le strict nécessaire. J'ai donc decidé de créer mon propre patchset.

I'm maintaining a (non-official) Gentoo Linux ebuild for a Linux 2.6 kernel patchset based on Con Kolivas's own high performance patchset. The -dju patchset brings additional features to -ck and is a lighter alternative to -cko, the -ck overloaded patchset.

This document is an ongoing work in progress. It contains gaps, inaccuracies, omissions, typos and the occasional outright lie. The intent is to make an handbook giving developers and users correct, detailed, up to date technical content.
