KN | Kitsune Noir » ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’ – A Banksy Film

In a slightly random turn of events Banksy will be releasing a new film called Exit Through The Gift Shop that will be premiering at Sundance this Sunday. The film supposedly is about a man who tried to make a movie about Banksy, but Banksy ends up making a film about him instead. From viewing the trailer it just looks like him and Shep Fairey running around Silver Lake and Melrose bombing buildings. I’m curious to hear what it’s really about, I’m sure it’ll be interesting no matter what it is.

Beautiful Losers the Film

(via)
Beautiful Losers celebrates the spirit behind one of the most influential cultural movements of a generation. In the early 1990's a loose-knit group of likeminded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the "establishment" art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture. Starring a selection of artists who are considered leaders within this culture, Beautiful Losers focuses on the telling of personal stories...speaking to themes of what happens when the outside becomes "in" as it explores the creative ethos connecting these artists and today's youth.

Concrete Hermit

“Punk is an attitude not an aesthetic” Since 2004 Concrete Hermit has worked with selected artists, building its reputation by producing a range of graphically lead products including books, T-shirts and badges. We decided to create a platform that promoted interesting work fairly and with respect for both the artist and the buyer. We enjoy working with diverse groups of people to produce good, interesting, unusual stuff. We try not to be lead by fashions or markets, although we are making products for consumers - we’re putting creations out there to be consumed. We’re no longer sure what real is but we’ll do our best to keep it real - We are post-neo-old-skool.

Graffiti Research Lab » Night Writer

by 1 other
The night writer extends the functionality of LED throwies by allowing a writer to catch a tag in lights. It’s cheap, easy to make and writes 12-inch glowing letters 25-feet in the air on any iron or steel surface…if you stand on a turned over garbage can.

The Scrawl Collective Following the success of 1999's book: Scrawl, Dirty Graphics and Strange Characters and 2001's Scrawl Too, More Dirt (Booth Clibborn Editions), the co-author Ric Blackshaw set up The Scrawl Collective, an agency and consultancy dealing with street artists and related illustrators. What started as a "let's see what happens" sideline has grown into a group of artists known for cutting edge street styles whose work has become highly collectable and who's commercial work is sought after all over the world by design companies, advertising agencies and PR companies alike.

Banksy : Stencil Graffiti

This presents the awesome possibility of people having to appeal such a decision. Should you want to keep a piece of graffiti on your property you are now granted two weeks to convince a table of magistrates that it is not "detrimental to the amenity of the area".

Founded on the theory that " if you can't find it, You make it", Beautiful/Decay was created to bridge the gap between art and graffiti, underground and mainstream, design and fine art, Punk rock and hip hop, illustration and design, and most importantly high and low art. With a focus on cutting edge work in all the aforementioned genres, B/D strives to showcase new and emerging artwork Whether it be Interior or exterior.

Stencil Graffiti

"Street art is both an expression of our culture and a counterculture in itself. %u2018Communication%u2019 has become a modern mantra: the city streets shout with billboards, fly posters and corporate advertising, all vying for our attention. They almost invite a subversive response. As high-tech communications have increased, a low-tech reaction has been the recent explosion in street art."
