I have a work colleague and friend who sometimes acts as a consultant with Interesource, she is blind, and this week I received a Facebook friend request from her. I was overjoyed and thought 'great she's got in here', knowing how inaccessible Facebook is. The main access obstacle is the use of CAPTCHA for registration and other important features, such as adding a friend.

At the beginning of the year the Time magazine’s 'Person of the year’ cover got me thinking about issues of control and the internet in a global and local context. It focused on the proliferation of user generated content (UGC), and talks about being on the verge of a 'new digital democracy'. When 'old' media starts talking about citizens taking over, a 'revolution' and 'power to the people', perhaps it signals the opposite?
Interesource Blogs: Priority 4: October 2006: Well adjusted campaign
Yesterday was the launch of the Well adjusted campaign 'Great Communications Guide', which was pretty poorly attended. The campaigners have been working since May on producing clear and simple guidance to assist organisations and companies to comply with the law and to meet the communication needs of their customers, colleagues and community.
