by sbrothier

The History of Visual Communication - The Art of the Book

by sbrothier
This website attempts to walk you through the long and diverse history of a particular aspect of human endeavour: The translation of ideas, stories and concepts that are largely textual and/or word based into a visual format, i.e. visual communication. Wikipedia defines visual communication as:

Visual communication is the communication of ideas through the visual display of information. Primarily associated with two dimensional images, it includes: art, signs, photography, typography, drawing fundamentals, colour and electronic resources. Recent research in the field has focused on web design and graphically oriented usability. It is part of what a graphic designer does to communicate visually with the audience.

Jamie Wieck / Portfolio / Another Bloomin' Designer

by sbrothier & 2 others
For this project I set out to design a business card that a prospective client would want to keep on their table rather than in their pocket. The result was a business card that worked like a miniature house-plant, growing alfalfa or cress when dipped in water - a business card for 'another bloomin' designer'. The logo was also cut into a 'seed stencil' that allowed the logo to be grown on either earth or lawn; on uncut grass, the message would remain hidden until the area was mown.

If you want your own design, illustrations or photos printed and stretched on the budget BlauPrint™ framework or on a textile print you can easily send us the files and you will receive the printed framework within 2-3 weeks.
