Afin de le démontrer, Mozilla a effectué un premier test avec Firefox sur TraceMonkey et a comparé les performances avec Chrome en se servant d’une solution de “benchmarking” du nom de SunSpider. Selon la société, Chrome fut 28% plus lent sous WindowsXP et 16% plus lent sous Vista.

La rumeur revenait assez régulièrement. Elle a été confirmée hier. Google travaille sur un navigateur web. Son nom de code : Google Chrome. Annoncé comme plus stable et plus rapide (que ses concurrents), Chrome sera lancé aujourd’hui en version bêta, uniquement sous Windows.

Today there was a comic book in my mail, sent by Google and drawn by no less than Scott McCloud, creator of the classic Understanding Comics. Within the 38 pages, which I’ve scanned and put up, in very readable format Google gives the technical details into a project of theirs: an open source browser called Google Chrome. The book points to www.google.com/chrome, but I can’t see anything live there yet.
