Everyone remembers the car from the Back to the Future trilogy. Aside from being a time machine, the car was cool because the engine was in the back and the doors opened up. Well DeLoreans, like the one in the movie, are about to be back on the market.

Up until now, I had been hopeful that the latest installment in The Mummy franchise would be able to pull off another good, if not great, movie with Mummy 3: Curse of the Dragon. My hopes were dashed with the news that studio has decided to recast the role of Evie O’Connell.

Tonight I hit the theater to catch a special viewing of the timeless classic Dirty Dancing in honor of the film’s 20th anniversary. As one friend described it, the experience was more intense that I remembered it.

The ’80s film, The Lost Boys will be featured as part of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s Rolling Roadshow. The roadshow takes a large projection truck and travels across country showing classic movies and cult favorites in cool locales that usually have some connection to the film itself.

Early this month in my Summer Family Movies Preview, I stated that goodness doesn’t sell after noting that there were no G-rated movies scheduled for summer release. But apparently too raunchy and too violent doesn’t sell either. According to an article in USA Today, movie execs are clamoring to avoid a NC-17 rating which leaves a movie “virtually unsellable.”

My children loved last year's Disney hit Cars, so we couldn't wait to see Meet The Robinsons. We'd been watching the trailers with the musical frogs and the dinosaur with "a big head and little arms" since the Superbowl. If you can make it through the rough, jerky beginning, the film proves itself to be a worthwhile watch with a few good messages for the children.
