Thomas Hoof Produktgesellschaft was founded in 1998 as a subsidiary of Manufactum to develop high-quality solutions for the parent group. Ten years later, Manufactum's founder Thomas Hoof and the Thomas Hoof Produktgesellschaft separated from the group and established the Thomas Hoof Group, which since then has been pooling companies from the construction, forestry and agriculture sectors as well as several editorial houses.

Artist Klaus Haapaniemi and designer Mia Wallenius founded a design studio together in January 2010.  Their design approach is influenced by nature, Finnish folklore, fantasy and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist.  Focusing on Klaus Haapaniemi textile collection, they also work in furniture, fashion, books, events and exhibitions,  often collaborating with other designers and studios to create limited edition design pieces.

Going back to our use first use of a Kindle, we were amazed and excited about the idea of an e-reader. Liouba est une petite pépinière familiale qui puise ses sources d'un atelier de tailleurs immigrés d'Europe de l'Est où des tas d'histoires et contes absurdes y ont posé leur valise. Bercée depuis mon enfance par les contes fafelus de Kamenielspodolsk, j'ai voulu raconter ce petit monde tendre et curieux en le faisant vivre dans l'univers textile des chambres d'enfants. Tous les motifs sont réalisés à la main en sérigraphie artisanale dans un atelier parisien. C'est en décembre 2004 que Liouba est sortie de son atelier pour faire ses premiers pas en attendant de grandir tout doucement.
